Sporting beats Moreirense in the I Liga
Sporting defeated Moreirense 1-0 and approached the I Liga podium in a match settled by Luiz Phellype, but had much of Maximiano and Mathieu.
Sporting said goodbye this Sunday to their games at the Alvalade stadium in calendar year 2019, and soon with a 1-0 win over Moreirense, allowing the Leonina team to be just one point behind third-placed Famalicão. .
Jorge Silas started for the 13th match as coach of the green and white team committed to winning the tenth victory, and bet on a mobile attack, formed by Luciano Vietto, Jesé Rodríguez and Yannick Bolasie.
A strategy that came to fruition, resulting in a positive display, whose victory volume was only scarce, given the offensive production that the men of the house had over the 90 minutes.
The first serious warning came in the 12th minute when Yannick Bolasie put the ball in the bottom of the net but Cristian Borja’s pass was in an irregular position, as VAR detected.
Several attempts followed, especially by Bruno Fernandes, Jésé Rodríguez and Jérémy Mathieu, against a Moreirense who did little or nothing to justify another result. However, only a ‘rabbit pulled out of a hat’ by Jorge Silas sealed the end result.
After 65 minutes, Leonino coach Luiz Phellype took the place of Jesé Rodríguez (who did not like to be replaced), and after just five minutes the Brazilian returned the confidence with a beautiful header after Mathieu’s cross.
A win that does not deserve any dispute, and that not only keeps Sporting in fourth place in the I Liga, but also brings it close to third, as Famalicão, who lost the day before with Tondela, are a mere point away.
