Sporting plays final round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League in Kazakhstan
Lions will compete for the European Champion title with Kairat Almaty, Inter Movistar and Barcelona.
UEFA announced on Monday that the final round of the Futsal Champions League will be played at the Almaty Arena, home of Kairat Almaty, who will host the competition for the third time.
The decision was taken after a meeting was held by the organization’s Executive Committee in Nyon where the proposal of Sporting was ignored so that the tournament could be played at Forum Braga.
The final round of the biggest European club futsal tournament will take place next April and will face Kairat Almaty (host), Sporting (only Portuguese representative), Inter Movistar (champion in title) and Barcelona.
The Lions were runners-up in the last two editions of the millionaire event. In both, they were defeated by Inter Movistar, where it aligns the Portuguese international Ricardinho.
