Sporting beat FC Porto 2-1 this Tuesday in the League Cup semi-finals, held in Leiria.
It was already in the final stretch of the game that FC Porto scored; a goal by Marega that resulted from an individual action by the Malian striker and a curling shot, but that led the way and almost made a difference in this classic.
Not long before, Nuno Santos was very close to having the goal wide open for goal, but Felipe Anderson recovered well and denied him the completion. But Jovane Cabral, who entered the second half, drew, in a great shot and with the ball hitting the post before entering the goal.
The game was intense, but not always pleasant to the eye, with several absences, due to the Covid-19 infections.
Most often a sign for FC Porto, but not very exuberant. In the last 20 minutes Sporting scored.
After the tie by Jovane, the same Jovane Cabral scored the second and placed Sporting in the League Cup final, waiting for the other finalist, who will leave SC Braga-Benfica scheduled for this Wednesday.
