Stephen Attenborough confirmed as speaker at Building The Future 2025
Known as one of the pioneering figures in the commercial exploration of space
Stephen Attenborough, one of the pioneering figures in the commercial operation of space, is the first international speaker confirmed for the 2025 edition of Building The Future.
On February 19, Stephen Attenborough will present, at the Carlos Lopes Pavilion, his unique vision on innovation, leadership and the future of technology with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The current Board Member and Trustee of Virgin Unite US joined space airline Virgin Galactic in 2004 at the invitation of founder Sir Richard Branson to be the company’s first employee and lead the group’s strategy to make space accessible. During this period, when he became head of the Customer Department, he played a crucial role in building the company’s commercial foundations and was responsible for initiating and guiding customers’ journey towards the transformative experience of space flight.
His 18 years with the company culminated in his participation in Richard Branson’s trip to space in 2021, a significant milestone in the history of space tourism. Additionally, Virgin Galactic became the first human spaceflight company to list on the New York Stock Exchange.
