The amounts corresponding to Related Rights collected and distributed to producers and artists totalled €16.88 million, representing a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Despite sectoral fluctuations, the Portuguese music market continues to grow, having registered a 7% overall increase compared to 2024, totalling €39.99 million. In the first half of 2025, Audiogest members recorded over three thousand Portuguese-language music releases, with 75% of these works by artists of Portuguese nationality.

The data confirms a steadily growing market, driven by the adoption of digital technologies and the resilience of the physical market, particularly vinyl.

“Portuguese music is recognised and admired internationally, but its value as an industry and its potential economic contribution continue to be frequently underestimated. It has been a challenge to gain legitimate recognition that this sector is not just about culture: it is an industry that generates value, capable of creating wealth and enriching culture. Policymakers must recognise the importance of the music industry and preserve its future in the face of the growing challenges of AI,” emphasises Miguel Carretas, CEO of Audiogest.

Regarding the artists most listened to by the Portuguese public, national artists stand out. Among the streaming charts are Plutônio, Nilo, Napa, and Calema, while radio airplay highlights Plutônio, Mizzy Miles, Slow J, Lon3r Johny, ProfJam, and Dillaz. Also among the most listened to Portuguese albums, national talent is evident, with names such as Calema, Mizzy Miles, Slow J, Lon3r Johny & ProfJam, and Dillaz standing out.
