Sum 41 steps onto the NOS Stage on the last day of the 16th edition of NOS Alive. This is the debut of the iconic Canadian punk rock band at Passeio Marítimo de Algés.

Sum 41 are returning to the forefront of the music scene with the highly anticipated release of the new single “Landmines” in October this year. This new song offers an exciting preview of the group’s next album, scheduled for 2024.
“Landmines” isn’t just a song; is a testament to the determination to face adversity for loved ones, as expressed by vocalist Deryck Whibley. The engaging chorus is accentuated by powerful drums, resonating with the same intensity as landmines, a metaphor that gives the song its name. The video accompanies the song, taking us to a 1998 formation ceremony transformed into a rock show, an allegory to the beginnings of the band’s career.
“When I wrote ‘Landmines’, I didn’t intend to create a song in the traditional ‘pop punk’ style. The song just flowed quickly, and I immediately felt like it had something special,” Whibley tells us.
Looking back over the band’s memorable 27-year career, Sum 41 has firmly cemented its place in rock history, with more than 15 million records sold worldwide, multiple Billboard chart releases, a GRAMMY® nomination, 2 Juno awards (and 7 nominations), a Kerrang! Award in 2002, multiple Alternative Press Music Awards and countless other distinctions.
The release of the album All Killer, No Filler, in 2001, along with “Fat Lip”, “In Too Deep”, “The Hell Song” and “Still Waiting” transformed the band into one of the biggest punk rock references of the 2000s and one of the 10 most commercially successful Canadian bands.
In 2023, Sum 41 will step onto the NOS Stage at NOS Alive on July 13th of the 16th edition of the festival with an unmissable concert.
