Summer out of time. A hot weekend is coming

The weekend will be very sunny and temperatures reaching 35 ° C in some regions of the continental territory. Sunday is going to be the hottest day.

Looking at the weather out there this Friday, it’s hard to believe that tomorrow will be sunny days and high temperatures. But this is what the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) tells us. As expected, the weekend will be very sunny and temperatures will reach 35ºC.

If this Friday the reality is still sprinkling in some regions of the continent (although already with the highest temperatures), from Saturday the scenery will be authentic summer.

For Saturday, the IPMA predicts to the mainland a cloudless or clean sky and a small rise in minimum temperature and a more significant increase in maximum temperature, with thermometers expected to reach 30 ° C in Faro, Beja, Évora, and Santarém.

In the rest of the continental territory, Lisbon expects a maximum of 28ºC on Saturday and maximum temperatures varying between 21ºC and 29ºC in the North and Center.

On the hottest day, Sunday, the forecast points to the following maxims. At 35ºC, the districts of Santarém and Setúbal will be the hottest. Lisbon will reach 34ºC, Beja, and Évora at 32ºC, Leiria and Coimbra at 31ºC, Braga and Castelo Branco at 30ºC.

The districts of Aveiro and Porto can count on a maximum temperature of 29ºC on Sunday, Viana do Castelo, Guarda and Portalegre 28ºC, Vila Real and Bragança 27ºC and Guarda 26ºC.

A completely different scenario is what is expected in the Azores, where rain is expected on both Saturday and Sunday, and maximum temperatures vary between 18ºC and 19ºC.

In Madeira, it is expected cloudy weather and maximums that will be around 23ºC and 24ºC.

According to the 10-day IPMA forecast, rain may be returning to continental territory in just a week, a situation that will be accompanied by a further drop in temperature.
