“Sunburn – Golpe de sol” film by Vicente Alves do Ó debuts today

Vicente Alves do Ó‘s new film “Sunburn – Golpe de sol” debuts today and focuses on four friends, whose quiet summer weekend is shaken by a return from the past.

The characters are Francisco, played by Nuno Pardal, Joana, played by Oceana Basílio, Simão, played by Ricardo Barbosa, and Vasco, played by Ricardo Pereira. They are in a residence in the Alentejo and, given the time, they are forced to face a ghost from the past that marked each of them.

Sunburn – Golpe de sol” had a first national premiere in October last year at Queer Lisboa – Queer International Film Festival, but the director guarantees that the film was not made just for the lgbt+ community, but for everyone.

Synopsis:

Francisco, a successful architect, invites his three long-time best friends, Joana, Simão, and Vasco, for a leisure weekend away from the city. But when David, an old mutual friend who left indelible marks on everyone’s lives, announces the desire to visit them after a long period of absence from the country, a threatening environment is installed in this modernist refuge sheltered in the middle of the forest.

Disarmed by surprise, the four companions go on a collision course while awaiting the arrival of this mythical figure, revealing deep wounds repressed during the last ten years.
