The Super Bock Super Rock (SBSR) festival returns in July to the Herdade do Cabeço da Flauta in Meco, Sesimbra, after three years in Lisbon, where it will celebrate 25 editions, announced today the promoter Music in the Heart.
“On July 18, 19 and 20, Super Bock Super Rock returns to the idyllic setting next to Meco Beach, the new but already familiar meeting place for thousands of music lovers,” the promoter writes in a statement released today, in which he recalls that the festival is the “only with 25 consecutive editions”.
The promoter said that “the venue where the concert venue will be located is different from what the public already knows about the previous editions and where there is already a vegetation carpet that will now be treated to ensure a natural green floor, where the various stages will be installed “.
The holders of the three-day pass will be able to camp, “from the Wednesday before the beginning of the festival until Sunday“, that is, from 17 to 21 July.
In the years that the festival took place in Meco, accessibility was one of the aspects most criticized by the public.
In this regard, Music in the Heart states that “mobility is also a focus of the Festival’s attention in order to minimize the traffic constraints inherent in any event that moves thousands of festivals.”
“First, in the offer of direct transport alternatives from Lisbon, and return at the end of the night, whose use is recommended! There will also be free buses to the beach, which will take the route between Herdade do Cabeço da Flauta and Praia do Meco, as well as the Pedestrian Path with direct access to the Lagoa de Albufeira, in order to avoid the need for use of own transport by the public who, having acquired the pass for the three days, opt for the free camp of the Festival “, reads the statement released today.
In addition, “working together with the partners will help to optimize mobility, such as Via Verde, through the Via Verde Transport app, as well as ride-sharing and car-sharing services, some of the solutions that will be at the service of the Super Bock Super Rock audience, facilitating access to the venue and contributing to a more comfortable, economical and responsible experience. ”
For those who choose to travel by car to the venue, “the parking lot of the festival, with capacity to accommodate thousands of cars, will have signs, lighting and equipment for parking assistance.”
In addition, “always in close coordination with the competent authorities, traffic management will be done on the road linking the Rotunda of the Grilo Landmark to the Festival“.
The promoter also reminds us that today there are “alternative ways to reach the Roundabout of the Grilo Marco, namely using the A33, which did not exist in 2014,” when the festival took place in Meco for the last time.
The first edition of the SBSR took place in 1995 at the Gare Marítima de Alcântara in Lisbon, after which the festival took place, among others, in the Passeig Marítimo de Algés in Oeiras, and in Parque Tejo and Parque das Nações, both in Lisbon.
The first bands and artists for the 25th edition of the SBSR will be announced shortly. Three-day passes and daily tickets are now on sale.
