Portugal’s Susana Costa has today achieved the qualification mark for the European Indoor Championships by winning the triple jump event at the Luxembourg Meeting with 13.89 meters.
The athlete Fernanda Ribeiro Academy opened the contest with 13.52 meters, improved to the second test to 13.73 and the third jump equalled the qualifying mark (13.85). After two null jumps, he got 13.89 meters on his last jump, clearly defeating France’s Flore Gracia (11.75).
At the same meeting, Benfica’s Tsanko Arnaudov was second in the 19.8-meter weightlifting, beating Luxembourger Bob Bertemes (20.66), sixth in the 2018 European final.
Benfica’s Emanuel Rolim, who returned from an internship in Kenya, was eighth in the 1,500 meters with a 3.45.86 minute mark, just over a second of qualifying for the 2019 Glasgow Europeans.
