Tabaqueira joins the national movement ‘BRAVOS HERÓIS’ for a smoke-free forest
Tabaqueira associates, for the second consecutive year, with the national movement BRAVOS HERÓIS, for a smoke-free, fire-free, more resilient and sustainable forest.
The second edition of this initiative wants to give a voice to the heroes who, daily, fight for a greener country and, in this way, make Portuguese citizens aware of the need to embrace the national cause of fire prevention, forest preservation and behavior adoption more sustainable.
For eight weeks, with the patronage of Tabaqueira, Diário de Notícias, Jornal de Notícias and TSF (three brands from the Global Media group) will make known eight faces, eight agents of change, from different regions of Portugal, that operate in the areas of forest preservation, fire fighting and environmental protection.
Eight heroes, men and women, will leave their testimony and advice so that we can all contribute to a country with less smoke, less fire, which requires the adoption of appropriate behaviors in favor of environmental conservation.
After joining the creation of the BRAVOS HERÓIS initiative in 2019, Tabaqueira joins the initiative again. Miguel Matos, Director General of Tabaqueira, says:
“The ability of organizations and people to mobilize around a greater cause is fundamental nowadays. When the effects of climate change are so evident, it is extremely important to reinforce everyone’s contribution to the reduction of forest fires and the harmful effects on society and on nature and its ecosystems.
Tabaqueira, as an organization committed to finding alternative solutions to combustion and building a better, smoke-free future, joins this initiative because it believes that it is in the hands of everyone to protect the environment and “smoke” the rural environment.
If we change our behaviors and know what actions positively impact the environment, we will be building a greener, smoke-free, and more sustainable forest.”
The second edition of this initiative will feature a closing event to discuss the contribution of digital projects – including BRAVOS HERÓIS – to raise awareness and educate people to preserve forests and prevent fires.
