TAP helps UNICEF and São Tomé and Príncipe children with auctions

TAP has once again partnered with the solidarity fundraising platform eSolidar this time to help UNICEF in its mission to the children of São Tomé and Príncipe through auctions of parts of their planes.

The value raised with this auction reverts to the UNICEF program that supports the children of São Tomé and Príncipe. With a population of around 190,000, of which 42.47% are under 14 years of age and 63% are young people under the age of 24, São Tomé and Príncipe is a very young country, but enough shortages.

About half of the children living in this country suffer from diseases associated with poor water quality and 61% of children under five years of age do not sleep under mosquito nets, making them vulnerable to diseases such as malaria that kills 10 children under five years of age. every single minute. Malaria and poor water quality are, in fact, problems that cause numerous diseases and deaths easily avoidable with effective and inexpensive treatments. Thus, one of UNICEF’s priorities in São Tomé and Príncipe is to combat the spread of malaria and to equip communities with effective water and sanitation that provides better hygiene and public health conditions.

Solidarity auctions to help UNICEF began today, the 20th, at the eSolidar platform and end on November 27. There are about 50 auctions of aircraft parts: used business and economy class chairs, galleys, cabinets, panels and other aviation items.

This initiative also counts on the collaboration of the company EAD – Documentation Archive Company, the market leader in Portugal and a pioneer in custody and archive management that, within the framework of its social responsibility measures, has made available space where this material is stored.

It is a fantastic opportunity to own an exclusive piece of Portuguese aviation and help at-risk children in need of urgent assistance.
