‘Tasting Fado’: A trip to the country’s heritage from April 14th at Teatro Tivoli BBVA

Every Friday and Saturday, at the end of the day, visitors have the opportunity to discover the secrets of the theater and enjoy a pastel de nata and port wine with the hymn of saudade as a backdrop, in the attic of the Lisbon Cine-Teatro.

‘Tasting Fado’, an initiative by Teatro Tivoli BBVA, developed by the producer UAU, promotes a journey through the history, art, and gastronomy of Portugal. The experience takes place from April 14th and during the next Fridays and Saturdays, at 7 pm. Entry costs €20 per person and tickets are on sale at Ticketline.

The history of Teatro Tivoli BBVA is now open with the ‘Tasting Fado’ initiative, which provides a guided tour of the concert hall with the most roses in Portugal, as well as a journey through the sounds and flavors of Lusitania. This is a journey through Portuguese heritage in what are the first cinema theater in the country and a national monument, which in 2024 celebrates its centenary.

The visit to the Theater ends at the Cine-Theatre’s Sótão Café, where the essence of Portuguese culture will be experienced: visitors have the opportunity to attend a live fado session, accompanied by Portuguese guitar and viola.

Fado is melancholy and sings of nostalgia, and visitors will be treated to an intimate performance while enjoying a glass of port wine and a pastel de nata in the space where 20th-century cinema machines are on display.

Always confirm with the concert hall or promoter the conditions of access, confirmation of the date or time, tickets place of sale, price, and availability.
