The Tec Labs – Innovation Center of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Lisbon (CIÊNCIAS UL) announces the next edition of the Tec Labs Demo Day, an event where the latest technological innovations are presented and the exchange of ideas and networking is encouraged.
The event will take place on October 2, from 2 PM to 8 PM, at the Tec Labs facilities located at the Faculty of Sciences, in Campo Grande, Lisbon.
The event Tec Labs Demo Day will feature the presence of national start-ups from various fields, ranging from health to sustainability, including agrotechnology and artificial intelligence, reinforcing the multidisciplinary nature of this incubator. Among the highlighted startups are Generosa, Delox, RAIZ Vertical Farms, Nevaro, and GranterAI, whose innovative projects have attracted the attention of the national and international tech community.
The event will kick off with an opening session by Prof. Luís Carriço, Director of CIÊNCIAS UL, followed by the keynote speech titled “The Future is Now – The Role of Universities,” delivered by Balzhan Orazbayeva from UIIN (University Industry Innovation Network).
Balzhan Orazbayeva is a recognized expert in the area of collaboration between universities and industries, with experience in promoting strategic partnerships that drive innovation and technological development. Her presentation at this event will address the fundamental role of universities in preparing for the technological future, highlighting international best practices and successful strategies.
The event will also include a roundtable titled “Beyond the Obvious on Internationalization of Start-ups,” featuring industry representatives such as Pedro Silveira (AICEP), Pedro Sacramento (Startup Portugal), and Jorge Santos (AquaInSilico), moderated by journalist Miguel Magalhães.
From 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, participants will also have the opportunity to visit the start-ups and spin-offs incubated at Tec Labs, as well as innovative research projects developed by students and researchers from the Faculty of Sciences. During this time, participants will be able to explore the various projects of the incubator and participate in unusual parallel workshops organized by Circo Matemático, a multidisciplinary group of artists that combines science, circus arts, and mentalism to popularize mathematics.
