“Sem peso ou medida” is the new single from Telmo Pires’ album “Via do Fado”, released on February 21st.
In his constant search for new poems, Telmo discovered “Sem peso ou medida” a poem by Tiago Torres da Silva, with which he fell in love at first reading. He chose Alfredo Marceneiro’s “Fado Cravo” as a song – traditional Fado that he also recorded here for the first time.
Another debut is the video clip that accompanies this new single. Here, Telmo is not only the protagonist but also his own cameraman, director, editor and editor.
A collage of images that started as a joke, became a lonely witness of the time we live. A time when “we are left to ourselves and we try to give space and a voice to our creativity. We cannot stop or wait for everything to return to normal -” says the fado singer.
Telmo Pires, who, as the German magazine “JazzThing” appears in its March issue “can break with the cliché that Fado is dominated by women” shows once again how much more than just a voice in fado.
