«Silica Temple» is about to arrive on the stage of the Seixal Cultural Forum

May 17th and 18th

«Templo de Sílica» is a multidisciplinary show, created by Xullaji (rapper Nuno Santos, formerly known as Chullage) and performed by Coletivo Peles Negras, Máscaras Negras – Teatro do Escurecimento, which consists of a community theatre group that maintains a practice of debate among the African community on the periphery and which works with them.

The show takes place on the 17th and 18th of May (Friday and Saturday), always starting at 9:30 pm, in the Municipal Auditorium of the Seixal Cultural Forum.

This artistic creation had the support of the Seixal City Council, combining music, theatre and video, and constituting an essay on technolatry, technological fascization, digital colonialism and necropolitics. «The play explores the idea of the humanization of machines and the robotization of humans, associated with intensive extractive economies. Therefore, this is seen as a criticism directed at people’s obsessive connection with technology», states the president of Seixal City Council, Paulo Silva.

This show was produced from texts written and rewritten since 2012, which now gain a voice, being proclaimed, sung and rapped, projected on video and broadcast in audio, bringing together seven people on stage and calling on countless ancestral voices.

«Silica Temple» lasts 60 minutes, is aimed at people over 14 years old and the ticket costs 6 euros. Tickets can be purchased online at BOL and the usual locations. The ticket is free for young residents up to 25 years old and for citizens over 65 years old. There will be a 50% discount for workers from Seixal municipalities, citizens, firefighters and Red Cross volunteers from the municipality of Seixal, on tickets purchased locally at the Seixal Cultural Forum ticket office.

Always confirm with the concert hall or promoter the conditions of access, confirmation of the date or time, ticket place of sale, price, and availability.
