Teresa Bonvalot sagra-se campeã nacional de surf!

Liga MEO Surf

Teresa Bonvalot won this Sunday, the title of national champion of women’s surfing in 2022. The achievement took place in advance, during the Allianz Ribeira Grande Pro, the fourth and penultimate stage of the MEO Surf 2022 League, the first division of national surfing.

Teresa arrived in the Azores to reach the final stage to stamp the title and did not facilitate this task. After standing out from the competition in the opening days of the Allianz Ribeira Grande Pro, on the final day Teresa Bonvalot advanced until reaching the semi-finals and winning the duel with Carolina Mendes in a categorical way, with the best score of the event (18.75 ) and the two best waves (9.50 and 9.25 points).

The triumph in the semi-finals automatically guaranteed the national title for Teresa, who earlier in the morning, after securing passage to the semi-finals, had also won the Allianz Triple Crown trophy. “I‘m very happy about this achievement, the conditions couldn’t be better. This year I didn’t even expect to do so many stages, but I’m very happy with this title“, commented Teresa.

This is the fourth national title of Teresa Bonvalot’s career, who, at the age of 22, repeated the achievements already achieved in 2014, with only 14 years old, 2015, and 2020. In 2022 she had a practically immaculate trajectory, with a 2nd place in the Figueira da Foz and two triumphs, in Porto and Ericeira.

On television, the Allianz Ribeira Grande Pro can be watched live on Sport TV, as well as on other official media: MEO facebook, MEO app – available at position 810 of the MEO channel grid, and at www.ansurfistas.com and social networks at @ansurfistas.

The MEO Surf 2022 League is an organization of the National Association of Surfers and Fire!, sponsored by MEO, Allianz Seguros, Joaquim Chaves Saúde, Bom Petisco, Go Chill, Somersby, Corona and Rip Curl, sustainability partner Jerónimo Martins, local support from the Ribeira Grande City Council, and technical support from the Azores Surf Club and the Portuguese Surfing Federation.
