Teresa Portela qualified for the semi-finals of K1 500 meters
The Canoist Teresa Portela was determined for the semi-finals of the K1 500 meters test when being second in its series. She completed the test in 1,48,727 minutes, 768 thousandths of the winner, Belgian Hermien Peters, in a race that qualified the first three.
On the other hand, Joana Vasconcelos failed the direct clearance to the meis of the same proof of K1 500 meters and went to the end rooms, but the clearance failed. She needed to be one of the first three placed, but ended sixth and last place, with the time of 1,56,622 minutes, at 7,299 seconds of the winner, Svetlana Chernigovskaya, the Russian Olympic Committee.
Teresa Portela will thus be the only Portuguese representative in the semi-finals of K1 500 meters, which are held on Thursday morning.
