Teté Furtado, is a traditional Cape Verdean music artist who recently released her first work, called “Bida Piscador”, a Tabanka that portrays the lives of fishermen from her land, which was sponsored by MCIC – Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries of Cape Verde, through the notice to promote and rescue traditional Cape Verdean music.
In 2020 Teté Furtado was the winner of the second prize in the “Chinese Bridge” international Chinese Music competition and is working on her musical project that encompasses a trio of three generations of artists, with the participation of Tiago Faray and based on the original themes written by him and will also feature compositions by Kaká Barbosa, Djacy Silva and Djone Santos.
In Cape Verde, the artist is already known on traditional stages, but in Portugal she recently made her debut at the Jorge Barbosa Municipal Auditorium, in Baixa da Banheira, where she was invited to participate in the Multicultural Festivals of Vale da Amoreira, having been accompanied by musicians Djone Santos and Mick Trovoada.
Currently residing in Portugal, she will perform her first launch concert at the CCCV-Centro Cultural de Cabo Verde in Lisbon.
