The 11th Generation “DEPOSITRON” Schools collect over 470 tons of waste
[dropcap type=”background”]T[/dropcap]he more than 600 schools and entities that participated in the 11th. The Depositrão Generation edition collected over 470 tons of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and RP&A (Waste Batteries and Accumulators) and their correct disposal for recycling.
Districts of Beja, Portalegre, Coimbra, Faro, Viana do Castelo and Autonomous Region of the Azores lead national gatherings
This edition had the active participation of schools of all levels of education and partner entities, notably the big winner, EB 2,3 Damião de Odemira, in Beja, which collected more than 19 tons of waste and remains in the Depositrão Generation since the first year of the initiative.
On the other hand, the first one to reach the top 5 was the Autonomous Region of the Azores, through Pico EB 1 / S Cardinal Costa Nunes, with a collection of over 11 tons of waste.
It should also be noted that the average weight of waste collected per school was 957kg this year.
The final balance of this edition resulted in the selection of the five schools that collected the most total weight and the other five schools that sent for recycling the highest weight of waste per student.
