João Almeida wins the Classic Pizza category at the 6th edition of the Portuguese Pizza Championship.
On July 29, João Almeida of Ristorante Pizzeria S. Martino, won the trophy (1st place) of the Classic Pizza category, in the Portuguese Pizza Championship, which took place in Cais de Gaia, earning a total of 333 points.
The sixth edition of this championship led to an enthusiastic audience different categories of pizza, evaluated by a demanding jury. This being the most disputed category, João Almeida won with his buffalo mozzarella pizza, greens, porchetta, and extra organic virgin olive oil. The secret: love and affection for art, using innovative ingredients.
However, the spotlight is no longer new to this young pizza maker, having reached # 1 at the World Pizza Championship in Naples as a member of the Portuguese Pizza Selection.
