The Cat Empire takes to the stage at Sagres Campo Pequeno

The Cat Empire arrives in Portugal under its name this year! Australian icons take to the stage at Sagres Campo Pequeno on September 16th to present their new album, Bird in Paradise, scheduled for release in March this year.
Tickets will be available on February 28th at 10 am, at the usual locations and at everythingisnew.pt.
Bird in Paradise is The Cat Empire’s tenth studio album, set for release on March 21, 2025. Born of raw energy and spontaneity, the record began as an experiment and evolved into a vibrant, cohesive work. Inspired by flamenco, a long-held dream of vocalist Felix Riebl, the album marks a return to the band’s organic and authentic sound, capturing the magic of musicians playing together in the same space.
The album celebrates the band’s musical and cultural diversity, incorporating multiple languages and notable collaborations including Grace Barbe and trumpeter Lazaro Numa. Songs like “La Gracia” and “Blood on the Stage” reflect the group’s global experiences, while “Doing Fine” brings an affirmative and dynamic energy. Visually, Giulia McGauran’s art complements the album’s carnival atmosphere. With Bird in Paradise, The Cat Empire not only hearkens back to its roots but continues to innovate and expand its musical legacy.
In August 2023, they released their tenth studio album, Where The Angels Fall, which debuted at #5 on the ARIA Charts and reached #1 on the AMRAP Metro Charts for three consecutive singles. The album was featured on The Today Show, The Project, ABC News Breakfast TV, Triple M Homegrown and Rolling Stone.
The band toured the world, selling out venues in Europe, the UK, North America and Australia with explosive performances. In 2024, they embark on a 40-date tour, taking in NOS Alive’25 before returning to Australia for a series of sold-out shows with symphony orchestras.
Now, they are preparing their new album and a new tour, which arrives at Sagres Campo Pequeno on September 13th.
