The celebration of true rock’n’roll is back in Portugal!!! THE DARKNESS have today confirmed the dates for their Dreams On Toast 2025 European tour, which will take the iconic British band to 17 cities across Europe this autumn. This route includes a highly anticipated return to Portuguese soil, with the band led by the inimitable Justin Hawkins taking to the stage at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo on October 24th. So, if you miss listening to great rock songs and being won over by the good vibes, get ready for a unique show, full of energy and irreverence, which promises to be an unmissable experience.
After having taken to the stage at Rock In Rio – Lisbon in 2006 alongside the gigantic GUNS N’ ROSES, THE DARKNESS will finally make their debut here under their name with a concert as part of their European tour to present «Dreams On Toast», the band’s eighth studio album, scheduled for release in March 2025, via Cooking Vinyl. The new album marks the beginning of another chapter in the quartet’s career, which they bluntly describe as a “magnum opus filled with bangers”. Produced by guitarist Dan Hawkins, the album captures the essence of the quartet at their peak, balancing homages to their influences with the exploration of new sounds.
On «Dreams On Toast», each song reveals a different facet of the group’s creativity: from the catchy 70s pop of «The Longest Kiss», to the irreverent glam punk of «I Hate Myself», passing through the explosive hard rock of «Rock And Roll Party Cowboy“, the emotional ballad “Hot On My Tail”, attitude-laden anthems like “Mortal Dread” or “Walking Through Fire”, and even a foray into country with the surprising “Cold Hearted Woman”. As a result, with its ten songs, the long-awaited successor to «MotorHeart» promises to further solidify THE DARKNESS’ reputation as one of the UK’s most relevant rock bands.
Since exploding onto the music scene in 2003 with the iconic album «Permission To Land», THE DARKNESS has known how to maintain a career marked by irreverence, quality and a unique theatrical approach. More recently, musicians were once again in the spotlight when, in a spontaneous performance, pop star Taylor Swift sang the eternal «I Believe In A Thing Called Love» in public, rekindling the passion for this classic and taking it back to the top of the charts around the world. Now, the band is preparing to take this renewed legacy to the stage, with a show that promises to revisit their greatest hits, while also presenting the themes in the new «Dreams On Toast». With the same exuberant style as always and high doses of contagious energy, THE DARKNESS has everything on its side to provide Portuguese fans with an unforgettable night.
