In anticipation, they release the new single “Hit” and announce a concert on their YouTube channel on October 16 at 9:30 pm and October 31 at Arroz Estúdios in Lisbon.
After “One trick pony“, the Dirty Coal Train (Dirty Coltrane?) Released the 2nd single “Hit“. This theme uses more rock influences to talk about the problems of those who start their own business and find themselves stuck in taxes and incomes that grow exponentially.
It thus serves as a direct reference to all the venues with original bands that have since closed and to those that, in these pandemic times, find themselves in a struggle to survive since, as they are not considered by the Ministry itself as places of culture, but rather like mere clubs/bars.
The frustration of rock being decades old in Portugal but still being considered the “persona non grata” of culture is evident in the chorus. A protest song that makes him “in a good mood” and a beautiful rock of the Dirty.
In the impossibility of a tour full of typical Dirty concerts drenched in sweat, noise, encounters and hugs, the band asked for help from elements of Humana Taranja and Casal Ventoso to record a session/live rehearsal in Sabugal.
The line-up is centered on themes from the new album with space for 2 versions, an interpretation of “Motherf#cker for Love” and, for anyone to keep laughing, there is still an unprecedented that is already promised that will give way to a single in 2021: “pizza & punk”. The transmission will be on YouTube, on October 16 at 9:30 pm. Time when you can take your beer or tintol and join us!
In a hint of hope for a possible return to normality of the concerts, The Dirty Coal Train has just confirmed the first live post-pandemic date, October 31st at Arroz Estúdios, in Lisbon.
After a double album full of guests, Portuguese Freakshow, and a trio album recorded “live in the studio” in Brazil, Primitive, The Dirty Coal Train shuffle cards and give again.
To start, they sign the new album as Dirty Coltrane, just as they did at the beginning of the band, they return to this signature in the year that they celebrate 10 years of project. Then it seems that they reduced the guests in the recordings to center much of the instrumentation on the duo Ricardo and Beatriz. They spread the songs of Dirty Coltrane Volume I and II by an LP + CD edition or an LP + cassette limited edition released on October 16th.
