The film “A Fábrica” ​​will represent Portugal at the Cannes festival

The film “A Fábrica”, by Diogo Barbosa and Alexandre Pinto Lobo, will represent Portugal at the 48 Hour Film Project in Cannes, which takes place in May.

“A Fábrica” ​​made by Diogo Barbosa, with production by Alexandre Pinto Lobo, won the international award for best use of its kind at Filmapalooza 2020, in Rotterdam (Netherlands).

The short film made in Castelo Branco has now won a place in the official selection of the 48 Hour Film Project in Cannes, which runs from May 18 to 22.

The 48 Hour Film Project is the largest competition for short films in the world with a presence in more than 130 cities.

The best films of each year are awarded and some are selected to be in the ‘Short Film Corner’ during the Cannes festival, in an exclusive session of the 48 Hour Film Project.

The film “A Fábrica” ​​won the 48 Hour Film Project 2019, held in Castelo Branco, and represented the city in the grand final of Filmapalooza 2020, in Rotterdam.

The short film by Diogo Barbosa and Alexandre Pinto Lobo was already a finalist at the Independent Shorts Awards Hollywood, and is nominated for the best fiction short film at the Sophia Awards, of the Portuguese Film Academy.
