SYNOPSIS
Jean Cocteau was inspired by the love life of her friend Edith Piaff to write “The Human Voice”. Since its debut in 1930 this play has been performed by actresses from around the world, such as Ingrid Bergman, Liv Ullmann, Simone Signoret, Anna Magnani, and among us by Maria Barroso, Eunice Muñoz, Io Appolloni, among others. Now 60 years after the debut of Francis Poulenc’s lyric version on February 6, 1959, and celebrating the 120th anniversary of his birth, as well as the 130th anniversary of Jean Cocteau’s birth, we premiered “The Human Voice to the Piano.” A melancholically ardent actress and a serenely magical composer and pianist transmigrate us to another place, where times, voices and souls meet to the sound of music, in which shimmering spheres echo. About this piece I just want to say: Ama! If you’ve never loved anyone, love. Even if your love is not reciprocated, or at least not in the way you would like it to be. Do not be afraid! Love unconditionally, until you forget about yourself, and live only for another person. If you do you will find what you ignore. That you have an inner life that you can only feed when you feel in a state of strangeness and abandonment. The deeper you ascend, the higher you descend, the darker the light of passage, the better you will learn to be reborn. Be the beginning and be the end. And this seemingly lost time will be the matter and work of your creation
