The Last Dinner Party releases new album, From The Pyre
the group is scheduled to perform at the Lisbon Coliseu on February 8, 2026.
The London quintet entered the studio in early 2025 with Grammy-winning producer Markus Dravs (Wolf Alice, Florence & The Machine, Björk) to begin work on the follow-up to their 2023 No. 1 debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy.
From The Pyre sounds like a band having a blast, rather than feeling the pressure of following through on such an explosive and successful debut. It’s also the sound of a young band developing and maturing their songwriting together, a union as cohesive as the endless months of touring attest.
Regarding the album From The Pyre, The Last Dinner Party states:
“This record is a collection of stories, and the concept of ‘album-as-myths’ is what unites them. The ‘Pyre’ itself is an allegorical place where these narratives originate, a place of violence and destruction, but also of regeneration, passion, and light.
The songs are character-driven, yet remain deeply personal; an ordinary event taken to a pathological extreme. Losing contact without explanation turns into a Western dance with a killer, and heartbreak laughs in the face of apocalypse. The lyrics invoke scythes, sailors, saints, cowboys, floods, Mother Earth, Joan of Arc, and blazing infernos. We felt this kind of evocative imagery was the most honest and truthful way to discuss how our experiences made us feel, giving each the emotional weight it deserves.
This album feels a bit darker, rawer; it unfolds overlooking a sublime landscape rather than sitting at a table. opulent. It also feels metatextual and daring at times, like a knowing look reflected at ourselves.”
With two BRIT Awards to their name (including Best New Artist earlier this year), and having sold out virtually every show they’ve played worldwide (including three sold-out shows in their hometown at London’s Eventim Apollo), the arrival and subsequent global success of The Last Dinner Party was one of the most exciting introductions to a new British band in decades. And the introduction of From the Pyre suggests that this unparalleled success story shows no signs of slowing down.
The band will perform in Portugal on February 8, 2026, at the Lisbon Coliseum to present their new album live.
