The Legendary Tigerman live October 10th on TMJB

Paulo Furtado, The Legendary Tigerman, will be in the Main Room of Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite, for a concert, on Sunday, October 10th, at 5 pm.

The Legendary Tigerman is the alter ego of musician and performer Paulo Furtado (Mozambique, 1970), blues musician and Man-orchestra-style character (guitar, harmonica, and drums, using various microphones for effects, percussion pedals, electronic instrumentation, and Kazoo).

Absolutely unique and legendary at birth, it is inspired by the old de one-man-band format originating from the banks of the Mississippi Delta, adapting the concept to the 21st century and using a very particular aesthetic. To the traditional analogue format (drums, cymbals, guitar) it unabashedly adds electronic solutions. But The Legendary Tigerman is not just a musical project – the image, through (above all) cinema and photography, are as important as music.

He edited, among others, the albums ‘Naked Blues'(2001); Fuck Christmas, I Got the Blues (2003); the book/CD In Cold Blood (2004), Masquerade (2006), Femina (2009), Record of the Year in Portugal – Platinum 2009, was also published abroad and considered one of the 2010 records for El Pais, Spain, and one of the best albums of 2010 by the magazines Les Inrockuptibles, Rock&Folk and Télérama, True (2014) or even MISFIT (2018), in a world edition by Sony Music in double CD and DVD format, turning point, with the participation of Paulo Segadães in the drums, João Cabrita on baritone saxophone and Filipe Rocha on bass).

Appearances as a one-man band became from now on rare and very special, marking, very occasionally, a return to a format very dear to Paulo Furtado, which will always be part of The Legendary Tigerman‘s history.
