Musical success Chicago by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, with staging by Diogo Infante, returns for another season at Teatro da Trindade from September 2nd to November 1st, 2020, from Wednesdays to Saturdays at 9:00 pm. The cast features Gabriela Barros as Roxie, Soraia Tavares as Velma, Miguel Raposo as Billy Flynn, José Raposo as Amos, Catarina Guerreiro as Mama Morton, and Sara Campina as Mary Sunshine.
Also on stage, we have Carlota Carreira, Catarina Alves, Filipa Peraltinha, Leonor Rolla, Mariana Silva, Rita Spider, also responsible for the choreography, David Bernardino, Gonçalo Cabral, João Lopes, JP Costa, Pedro Gomes, and Ricardo Lima.

Velma, a nightclub star, does time for killing her husband and sister after catching them together; Roxie, an ambitious showgirl, ended up behind bars for killing her lover. Both use the services of Mamma Morton, the head of prison guards, and the astute lawyer Billy Flynn, to create a media frenzy and prepare for his big return to the world of showbiz.
Chicago is one of the most successful musicals in the world. Based on a play of the same name, written by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins, the musical was distinguished with 6 Tony Awards and 6 Oscars for the film adaptation of Rob Marshall. The original production, choreographed by Bob Fosse, debuted on Broadway in 1975 and had over 900 performances, covering more than 24 countries and being interpreted in 12 different languages. This is the first time that it is presented in Portugal.
The play Chicago will be on stage at Teatro da Trindade from September 2nd to November 1st and tickets vary from 14€ to 22€, with possible discount depending on the day of the show and the age of the spectator.
