The Resistência returns to the coliseu’s in 2025
two great shows in Porto and Lisbon
In the year in which the 50th Anniversary of the 25th of April is celebrated, Resistência will release a new EP called Canções da Revolução whose first single, “O Que Faz Falta” is released this week, on May 15th.
When it was born, Resistência had the spirit of April very much in mind, right from the start in the choice of its name, but also in its particular understanding of the power of songs. For this reason, in the year that marks half a century since the conquest of Freedom with the Carnation Revolution, the Resistência could not fail to celebrate April, once again.
Canções da Revolução is the title of an EP of four versions of four greatest classics that belong to a time, it is true, but that was also freed from it to reach eternity. The first theme revealed is one of the landmarks of this era, “O Que Faz Falta”. Originally part of the Coro dos Tribunais lineup, an album released precisely in 1974, this true anthem is now reinvented by the hands and voices of Tim, Fernando Cunha, Miguel Angelo, Olavo Bilac, Pedro Jóia, Alexandre Frazão, Fernando Júdice, Mário Delgado and José Salgueiro.
This single is edited and distributed by Vidisco and is available on all digital platforms from May 15th.
Resistência continues on its way, more than three decades after its debut, and for 2025 it has even more plans with the two special “New Year’s Concert” shows at the Coliseu’s in Porto and Lisbon.
The group will perform live at Coliseu Porto Ageas on January 25th and at Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, on February 1st to celebrate, not only, the release of this new EP but also a long-awaited reunion with the public that he will sing with one voice all the songs that have marked his fruitful career. An unmissable opportunity to share, experience emotion and celebrate Portuguese culture.
