The Smashing Pumpkins return to Portugal for NOS Alive

The band led by Billy Corgan joins the Bon Iver on July 13.

The Smashing Pumpkins are confirmed in the 2019 edition of NOS Alive. The group will play on the Passeio Marítimo de Algés on July 13 and will present to the Portuguese public their new album ‘Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun ‘. This is the band’s first work in 18 years.

The new album is being well received by critics, with Q Magazine magazine noting that the single ‘Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)’ is one of the best songs in The Smashing Pumpkins’ repertoire.

Formed in 1988, the group consists of vocalist Billy Corgan, guitarists James Iha and Jeff Schroeder and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. They have more than 30 million albums sold and are one of the most successful alternative rock bands.

The Smashing Pumpkins joins the Bon Iver, who also perform on the 13th, and The Cure (onstage on the 12th) as bands confirmed at NOS Alive next year.
