See the cultural tassels that you can enjoy in the last days of 2018 in Lisbon and Porto.
The year is coming to an end but there is still a weekend of free cultural offerings to take advantage of. And as New Year’s Eve celebrations are not limited to the 31st, there are many concerts to enjoy before.
In Lisbon, the stage par excellence of the farewell of the year is the Terreiro do Paço. There are going to be well-known names between the days 29, 30 and 31.
Already in Porto, Avenida dos Aliados marks the rhythm of the celebration and there are reasons to give entry to the new year in this place.
In addition, there are still Christmas fairs to visit. These are our latest cultural suggestions for 2018.

New Year’s Concerts at the Terreiro do Paço
Terreiro do Paço is usually one of the most sought-after venues in Lisbon to celebrate the New Year’s Eve. Christmas is over but Time Out is still giving gifts. In this case, offers in partnership with the Secret City Trails the possibility of participating in an adventure: go through two scripts to get to know better Lisbon. One of these routes passes through Graça and Alfama and the other passes through Bairro Alto and Bica. You will receive the clues on your mobile phone to solve puzzles while exploring corners of the city and enjoy the views. This gift will be delivered on the last weekend of the year and you can have more information here.
In Bocca al Lupo
This Italian expression is used in the performing arts as a way to wish good luck to those who go on stage, the equivalent of the Portuguese “Muita M ****”. In the theatre, the actors step on the stage without a safety net but the audience does not see what goes on behind the scenes. ‘In Bocca al Lupo’ portrays this world and the actors moments before they enter the scene. Exhibition and photography of David Cachopo to see in the Fnac Alfragide until the day 9 of January.
Wonderland Lisboa
Until January 1, Parque Eduardo VII has Wonderland Lisboa. There are Ferris wheel, ice rings, decorations and ‘all things Christmas’ to discover, with Christmas saying ‘Gift’ right in the heart of the capital.
The City of Filipa Oliveira Antunes
At Fnac do Cascais Shopping there is a show of sketches made by Filipa Oliveira Antunes to be discovered, with the design being “a tool of expression but above all knowledge and understanding of the place”. The exhibition is open until 23 January. More details here.
