Global superstar The Weeknd has just released his new studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. The new album follows a historic 2024, during which The Weeknd became the first artist to have 27 songs with over 1 billion streams each on Spotify.
Hurry Up Tomorrow is the final and most personal chapter of the artist’s acclaimed trilogy (awarded the diamond disc), following After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022). Check out the complete lineup below.
The Weeknd recently appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and performed a unique version of “Open Hearts.”
The proceeds from the song “Take Me Back To LA” will be donated to the LA Regional Food Bank, providing emergency food assistance to those directly affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles. Originally scheduled for January 24, followed by a unique concert at the Rose Bowl, the release of Hurry Up Tomorrow was postponed due to the devastating effects of the fires in California. Out of respect for the victims, The Weeknd cancelled the Rose Bowl (Pasadena) launch concert and donated 1 million dollars to the LAFD Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund, and the LA Regional Food Bank.
In partnership with Spotify, The Weeknd also announced the “Hurry Up Tomorrow ‘Pop-Up Experience’,” which will take place from January 31 to February 2 in New York. It is an immersive art installation that will take fans on a journey through the artist’s mind, concluding this trilogy. There will also be a merchandise area with exclusive products: leather jackets, bomber jackets, custom fleeces, T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and bandanas. Album-related products will also be available.
The Weeknd teased the new album by revealing the album cover and announcing a unique concert at Morumbi Stadium (São Paulo). The show streamed exclusively on YouTube, attracted millions of viewers and featured surprise appearances from Playboi Carti and Anitta. The sold-out event became the most viral musical performance in the U.S. and entered the YouTube Trending top in 24 countries, solidifying the artist’s global status. “Timeless,” highly anticipated after a teaser in São Paulo, debuted in the Top 3 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This year, The Weeknd will also star in a film inspired by the album, alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. Hurry Up Tomorrow, written and directed by Trey Edward Shults (Lionsgate), will premiere in theatres on May 16, 2025. The psychological thriller includes new songs from the artist, who composed the soundtrack with Daniel Lopatin.
