The Weeknd, a global superstar who has already won several diamond awards, debuted a never-before-seen production for over 70,000 fans during a sold-out show in São Paulo, Brazil, at MorumBI Stadium.
Special guest Playboi Carti appeared to perform two songs before Anitta surprised the audience disguised as one of The Weeknd’s dancers.
As The Weeknd finished the concert, a huge fleet of 150 drones appeared in the sky, “drawing” the title of his highly anticipated next project, “Hurry Up Tomorrow”. With “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” The Weeknd presents the culmination of his studio album trilogy, following Dawn FM (2022) and After Hours (2020). This album represents the creative apex of the project, serving as the third and final chapter created with existential and self-referential themes, as evidenced by the latest visionary teasers shared on social media.
The enigmatic artist officially revealed the artwork for his upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, available for pre-order on vinyl and CD here. To celebrate this special concert in São Paulo, The Weekend released a limited edition merchandise collection, with 10% of net profits from all sales being donated to the Brazilian Soul Fund of BrasilFoundation.
The São Paulo performance, produced by Live Nation, followed The Weeknd’s highly successful “After Hours Til Dawn Tour,” which had incredible success across North America, Europe, the UK, and Latin America, with over 60 sold-out stadium dates and more than 3 million attendees.
Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, who is also a United Nations Ambassador, partnered with the UN World Food Programme to contribute funds from the São Paulo concert to the XO Humanitarian Fund, supporting the organization’s response to the unprecedented global hunger crisis.
