The Weeknd releases first live album, “The Weeknd Live At SoFi Stadium”
now on digital platforms
This 31-track record captures the sold-out concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in November 2022 during the highly successful “After Hours Til Dawn Tour”.
The album spans the musician’s entire career and features powerful live renditions from “Wicked Games” and “Kiss Land” to “The Hills”, “Starboy”, “Can’t Feel My Face”, “Save Your Tears”, “Die For You”, and “Blinding Lights”. The live album is produced by The Weeknd and Mike Dean.
The disc accompanies the HBO special “Live at SoFi Stadium”.
Earlier this week, The Weeknd made history as “the first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify.” The musician had the highest monthly listener count ever on the platform with 100.4 million. He is thus enshrined as the #1 artist in the world on Spotify. The mega-hit “Blinding Lights” remains the “most listened to the song of all time” on digital platforms, with 3.4 billion streams.
The “Die For You” remix featuring Ariana Grande also continues to post impressive numbers, with 23.2 million streams on Spotify in less than a week. The collaboration came after the single’s stunning resurgence, where it completed “the longest climb to No. 1 in US radio history.”
Fans got their first look at the collaboration via Ariana’s TikTok account, where she shared a video where she claims she wrote and recorded a verse for one of her friends after a 14-hour day at work on Jon M Chu’s upcoming film, “WICKED”.
The Weeknd will appear in the new television show “The Idol” (date to be confirmed) on HBO alongside Lily-Rose Depp, which he wrote and produced with Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson.
Recently, The Weeknd announced the passage of the “After Hours Til Dawn” tour in Portugal. The 6th of June marks the start of the European tour at Passeio Marítimo de Algés.
