In a simple white setting, where the snow fell, the Casino Estoril Black and Silver Lounge filled for a night of magic, a night of dreams, but also a night when we learned some curiosities in relation to Christmas songs.

This show was staged by Henrique Feist, with Mariana Pacheco, Daniel Galvão, Diogo Leite and Válter Mira and Henrique Feist and the musical arrangements by Nuno Feist.

Those who went to the Black and Silver Lounge recalled the most beautiful Christmas songs, among them “It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas”, “Rocking Around, the Christmas Tree” and “Jingle Bell Rock”, from 1946 we heard “The Christmas Song”.

As a matter of curiosity, we learned that the song “Rupert, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” was a story invented in 1938 by a father to tell his son that he was very sad because of his sick mother, to give I’m a little hope. This story passed mouth to mouth, and a book was later published that sold about 3 million copies of what was even made a film. As expected, we heard “The Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Run Rudolph Run”.

The magic continued with “Winter Wonderland” and in a scenario where even the snow fell “Let it Snow“.

During the singers’ choreography, and as there was a touch of hands between them, Nuno Feist sang a Christmas Jingle dedicated to Covid, where there was no lack of hand sanitizing gel, and the audience laughed. “Avé Maria“, “Sleigh Ride” were two more songs sung and interpreted on this spectacular night.

We continue with the curiosities and this time, in relation to “White Christmas” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, written during the war, in 1944, by Jews. The songs were written to give hope to the troops, but in the end, they ended up giving hope and encouragement to all of us, in love among others.

White Christmas”, was sung by Mariana Pacheco and Henrique Feist, Mary, Did You Know“, “Here Comes Santa Claus“, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” plus one of the songs that passed through the Casino Estoril stage.

Cantique de Noel” was the first Christmas song to be played on the world’s first radio broadcast, followed by “The Holy Night”, “Jingle Bells”. At a time when we remember those who are far away, those who have already left and those we love; we hear “Miss You Most at Christmas”.

Blue Christmas“, was initially sung by King Elvis Presley, “All I want for Christmas is You“, “Please Come Home For Christmas“, “I’ll be Home For Christmas“, “Hallelujah“.

And he knew that “Stille Nacht Heilige Nacht” (Silent Night / Holy Night) was sung in 1914 during the First World War, by a German soldier on one side of the trench and on the other side of the trench the English soldier sangSilent Night”. That is how “Noite Feliz” was heard in the Black and Silver Lounge, and the enchanted night ended with “That ‘s Christmas to Me‘ ‘, sung to the chapel by 5 fabulous artists.

White Christmas is a show designed to remember the magic of Christmas, it is impossible not to sing, cry, laugh, as Nuno Feist said, Christmas songs remind us that hope, love for others are here to stay.
