These two Portuguese cities are among the most visited in the world
One is in the north of the country, the other is to the south … guess what cities we’re talking about?
The British company Euromonitor International has released the Top 100 of the most visited cities of 2018 worldwide.
This ranking, which is updated annually, is composed of the most visited cities by tourists, having as a point of analysis the arrivals registered in each metropolis.
In relation to Portugal, the city of Porto appears in 96th place and for the first time in this list, with 2.4 million visitors.
And then, stands out in Lisbon in 62nd position, with 3.8 million tourists.
It should be noted that between 2012 and 2017, the Portuguese capital has increased 11 places in the list of the most visited cities in the world. Only from 2016 to 2017, growth was 12.3%.
The survey of Euromonitor considers ‘international tourist’ any individual who visits a foreign country for at least 24 hours and for not more than 12 months, staying overnight in that destination.
