This year’s edition of Web Summit will be in person
The event, which takes place at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon, will take place between November 1st and 4th.
Comedian Amy Poehler, Microsoft President Brad Smith, European Commissioner Margrethe Vestager and footballer Gerard Pique will join more than 1,000 speakers, around 1,250 startups, 1,500 journalists and more than 700 investors, at a summit where topics such as technology and society, among others, will be discussed, according to the organization.
Among the various speakers is the responsible for Amazon’s Alexa, Tom Taylor, the Spanish football player and world champion Iker Casillas, the Portuguese Daniela Braga, founder of DefinedCrowd, who was invited to join Joe Biden’s Administration task force for artificial intelligence strategy, Ofcom CEO Melanie Dawes, among others.
The Prime Minister, António Costa, and the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, are part of the list of the first 150 speakers released by the Web Summit.
