Tiago Monteiro confirmed at WTCR with Honda but in new team
Tiago Monteiro was confirmed today in the FIA World Cup by the International Automobile Federation (WTCR) as a Honda rider, but in a different team than he was in 2018.
The Portuguese rider, who suffered a serious crash on September 6, 2017, that left him off the track until last October, “is in a position to align the entire season,” Honda said in a statement.
In 2018, Tiago Monteiro defended the colors of ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport, which now brings the Argentines Esteban Guerrieri and Nestor Girolami to the race in Japan, the only event in which he participated in medical advice.
The Porto driver faces the eighth consecutive season in Honda colors, but the Japanese brand says the new team will be “announced later”.
The World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) kicks off on April 7 in Marrakesh and ends in December in Malaysia.
