Tiago Siopa’s film awarded at Czech film festival

“Fantasmas: Caminho longo para casa” was the winner of the First Lights section, dedicated to first feature films.

The jury decided to award the prize to the Portuguese film for its magnificent cinematographic style “and for” telling spiritually enriching stories.

“Fantasmas: Caminho longo para casa” is a family fable set in Benedita, Alcobaça municipality, in which director Tiago Siopa takes the viewer to meet his family: mother, father, brother and in particular his grandparents, one of them personification of the ancestral wisdom of magic and popular spells, that manages to put Tiago in contact with the ghost of his other grandmother, already deceased.

This is the first professional work by Tiago Siopa, who, in 2018, won the RTP Prize for the best post-production project in the DocLisboa Arché program, which was equivalent to the acquisition by RTP of his exhibition rights.
