Tindersticks returned to Portugal to present live their latest album of original Soft Tissue, with a tour through Covilhã, Leiria, Aveiro, Porto and finally Lisbon in the Aula Magna, where they were welcomed by a room full of fans.
It is undeniable the great connection that the band has with Portugal and the affection that the Portuguese fans have for the Tindersticks, always with rooms full of a knowledgeable public, the Aula Magna was once again the stage of an excellent concert, was even the room where they first performed over 25 years ago.
Stuart Staples still remembers this concert as one of the most memorable of his career, the enthusiasm as it was received today remains, the tour that passed through Portugal had concerts in Covilhã, Leiria, Aveiro, Porto and Lisbon, where it ended.
Soft Tissue was the starting point of a concert that had many good moments, a journey that also took us to the most iconic themes, this band with more than 30 years of career, celebrated in 2022 at the Coliseus of Porto and Lisbon.
The English alternative rock band formed in Nottingham in 1991 is known for its melancholy, cinematic sound and distinctive baritone voice of Stuart A. Staples.
His music is characterized by exuberant orchestral arrangements, evocative lyrics and a sense of nostalgia and nostalgia, his music often incorporates elements of jazz, folk and classical music, creating a unique and atmospheric listening experience.
The Tindersticks have collaborated with several artists, including David Bowie, Marianne Faithfull and Scott Walker. His music has been used in the soundtrack of many films and television shows, further solidifying its reputation as one of the most influential alternative bands of its generation.
Stuart A. Staples, like himself, entered concentrated in the concert that opened with “How He Entered”, “A Night So Still” and “Trees Fall”, without conversation or comment, the concert followed a continuous stream of intense and memorable music, Only interrupted by the applause of a room full of fans.
“Don’t Walk, Run,” “Slippin’ Shoes” and “New World” would be the themes that ended the fantastic night in the Aula Magna, with signature Locomotiva Azul, but the audience did not leave the room, wanted more, and had, the concert ended with a very strong encore with “Stars at Noon” “Pinky in the Daylight” and “For the Beauty” for the joy of Portuguese fans.
