They were born in 1992 and made themselves known a year later with the acclaimed ‘The First Tindersticks Album’ (1993).
Three decades later, they are one of the most beloved bands of the Portuguese public, by whom they have always been very cherished. To give back, the British band built a special show that will pass through more than 15 European cities and which will end in a big way with two concerts at the Coliseus in Lisbon and Porto, on the 13th and 14th of May.
The choice of Portugal to close this tour does not happen by chance and highlights the fundamental importance that the Portuguese public has for the Nottingham group.
In these concerts the band will present their best songs with complete arrangements and faithful to the original recordings. Stuart Staples and colleagues will be flanked on stage by an orchestra and several well-known names from their discography: Lucy Wilkins (violinist on ‘Tindersticks II’ and ‘Curtains’), Calina de la Mare (violinist on ‘Tindersticks II’, ‘Curtains ‘, ‘Simple Pleasure’, ‘Waiting for the Moon’), Rob Spriggs (guitarist on ‘Tindersticks II and Curtains’), Sarah Willson (cellist on ‘Tindersticks II’, ‘Curtains’, ‘Simple Pleasure’, ‘Waiting for the Moon’, ‘Across Six Leap Years’ and ‘No Treasure but Hope’), Gina Foster (singer on ‘Across Six Leap Years’, ‘The Something Rain’ and the more recent ‘Distractions’) and saxophonist Terry Edwards.
