Tindersticks reveal new single ‘Always a Stranger’
Shows are scheduled for November in 5 Portuguese cities
Tindersticks today revealed the music video for the new single ‘Always a Stranger’, from their highly anticipated 14th album Soft Tissue which is set to be released on September 13th. For November, presentation concerts are scheduled in 5 Portuguese cities.
Directed by vocalist Stuart Staples, and filmed by guitarist Neil Fraser, the music video captures the hypnotic driving energy that culminates in Staples’ poetic chorus: “Oh life, breathe through me, As this light falls, My love is in flames and I ‘I’m always a stranger.”
About this single Staples explains: “Some songs I write, and I understand their reference points. This is likely the case with “New Order” and “Don’t Walk, Run”. But I don’t understand where they come from – they just happen. “Always a Stranger” is one of those songs, at its centre it has a kind of mystery to me.”
The legendary British band returns to Portugal in November for a tour with dates scheduled for Covilhã, Leiria, Aveiro, Porto and Lisbon. With more than 30 years of history and a career full of unforgettable songs, Tindersticks is preparing to surprise again.
