After more than twenty dates, eleven of which sold out, with a total audience of over 500,000 people, always with the applause of critics and fans, the superband Titãs now comes to an interregnum in the tour that celebrates their forty-year career, which will bring them to Portugal in November.
The main capitals of Brazil have already seen – and recommend, Titãs – Meeting.
With a lineup of more than 30 Titânico hits, spread over two hours of rock, the classic formation of Titãs delivers, in three well-defined acts, all the musical phases the band has gone through in these forty years of career. “Diversão”, “Epitáfio”, “Marvin”, “É preciso saber viver”, “Bichos Escrotos” and “Sonifera Ilha”, are just some of the songs that will also be sung at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon.
On stage, in addition to the seven original members (guitarist Marcelo Fromer died in 2001), the band relied on Liminha (Mutantes), a legendary producer who was for a long time considered the ninth Titã. Representing her father was Alice Fromer, the now singer, and Marcelo’s daughter, who lent her voice in a homage style, in “Toda a cor” alongside Arnaldo Antunes.
The themes, some over 30 years old, are still current and fit like a glove in the society of our time, revisiting Titãs‘ entire discography, from the rock side to the more acoustic set, pleasing several generations of fans. A show that is also visual, which begins with the silhouette of these seven musicians, who prove with this tour “to know (re)live”, something that the fans longed for, reaffirming the leading role of Titãs as a band full of vivacity, current, and synonymous with insurgency and ideological and musical rebellion.
It should be remembered that this is the first time in thirty years that we will be able to see the seven original elements of Titãs acting together, and we cannot rule out that for many, it may also be the last opportunity, especially outside Brazil.
Two extra shows were recently announced on this “Encontro” tour. The United States of America, even before Portugal, will receive the Titans, on October 3rd in Hollywood and on October 6th in New York at the legendary Radio City Music Hall.
