Tito Paris returned to the big stages, in Campo Pequeno he had the company not only of his band but also of other stars, who in turn formed the constellation that warmed the audience with music from Cape Verde.
The Concert “O Melhor de Tito Paris & Amigos” with some of the greatest successes of his 33-year-old career, by Tito, who tonight was accompanied by Patrícia Silveira, Cremilda Medina, Paulo de Carvalho, Mariza, Paulo Flores, Paulo Gonzo and Pierre Aderne.
One of Cape Verde’s most beloved children, who in his career worked with Bana, Dany Silva, Paulino Vieira, Paulo de Carvalho, Celina Pereira and Vitorino, Cesária Évora, Boss AC and many more, and who has made known so many other talents of music, one of the guests would even say “Tito’s heart has no end”, he is one of the greatest ambassadors of Cape Verdean music in the world.
‘Fidjo Maguado‘ marks his solo career as his debut album, released in 1987. The following albums led him to sign with MB Records, in the United States of America and on a world tour that led him to promote his own music and Cape Verde all over the world.
Over the years, Tito Paris has established itself as one of Cape Verde’s greatest cultural landmarks, thanks to the bridges it has created between Portuguese-speaking countries that culminated in the award of the Order of Merit Commander by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, in 2017.
A very relaxed concert, as if he were performing for friends and friends, started with Tito on the piano alone with ‘Poeta‘, in an intimate moment with the Campo Pequeno audience. ‘Mim é Bô‘, ‘Dança Ma Mi Criola‘, among many others from a career full of good music.
On stage he was accompanied by the fantastic Patrícia Silveira, who accompanied him in ‘Padoce de Céu Azul‘ after one of the new and vibrant voices of Cape Verde, Cremilda Medina, with whom he sang ‘Ondas di bo Corpo‘, with Paulo Gonzo sang ‘Negra‘, with the voice of Angola, Paulo Flores sang ‘Clarice‘, then it was Pierre Aderne’s turn to take the stage to perform with Tito ‘Preto é Mim‘.
One of the biggest names in Portuguese music follows, a longtime friend of Tito Paris, Paulo de Carvalho, with whom he sang ‘Curti Bô Life‘ and ‘Pretinha‘, then it was the turn of one of the fado stars, Mariza who performed Rui Poço on the Portuguese guitar sang ‘Beijo de Saudade’.
But everything that is good ends up, at least until the next concert by Tito Paris, it was with a tribute to Cesária Évora that the concert ended, with Tito Paris and all the guests singing ‘Sodade‘ with the audience Small of Campo Pequeno singing to, it was the perfect end to this fantastic concert.
