Today you will be able to see a Penumbral Eclipse of the Moon
The eclipse will last for 3 hours, 18 minutes and 13 seconds.
The moon will rise eclipsed at 20:52, with the expectation that it will come out of darkness at 22:06 (Portugal).
This astronomical phenomenon occurs when the Moon enters the region of the Earth’s gloom, which ultimately results in a variation of the Moon’s brightness.
Known as the “strawberry moon” due to its slightly reddish colour, the moon will be slightly obscured by the Earth’s shadow.
This Friday’s penumbral eclipse marks the second of four lunar eclipses
In addition to being visible from Europe, the Penumbral Eclipse of the Moon can be seen from other regions such as eastern South America, Asia, Africa, Australia and Antarctica.
