Torel Palace Lisbon was distinguished as Best Boutique Hotel at the 20th edition of the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards, one of the most prestigious awards in the tourism sector in Portugal. The awards ceremony took place yesterday, July 3, at the Vila Galé Collection Elvas Hotel.
Organised by the Publituris newspaper, the Portugal Travel Awards annually reward the companies, hotel units, institutions and professionals who stood out the most in the sector over the previous year. In 2025, there were 177 nominees in 22 categories, subject to voting by a specialised jury, subscribers to the printed edition and the daily Publituris newsletter.
The distinction of Torel Palace Lisbon as Best Boutique Hotel is a recognition of the team’s consistent work in offering a unique hotel experience, marked by charm, comfort and cutting-edge service, in a place where the past merges with the sophistication of today. This award adds to the hotel’s growing national and international reputation, which already has a Michelin star for 2Monkeys, the hotel’s most gastronomic restaurant.
Torel Palace Lisbon is part of the Torel Boutiques group, a small collection of prestigious hotels in Portugal, with hotels in Lisbon, Porto, Douro and, since May, also in Guimarães. The group is dedicated to creating spaces with soul and identity, rehabilitating historic buildings with unique design and interiors, always with a keen eye for what is Portuguese and artisanal. Each hotel tells a unique story, designed for travellers seeking memorable and unique experiences. Focused on excellent and highly personalised service, the group prides itself on being a true “Artisan of Memories” — a brand recognised both at home and abroad.
“We are deeply honoured that Torel Palace Lisbon has been named Best Boutique Hotel in Portugal. Receiving this award is especially meaningful, as the journey of the Torel Boutiques collection began 12 years ago, precisely at Torel Palace Lisbon, with a 12-room Guest House. Since those early days, we have grown to become a collection of seven luxury boutique hotels in Lisbon, Porto, Douro and Guimarães. This month, we are thrilled to open our next project on Terceira Island in the Azores. The evolution of Torel Boutiques reflects Portugal’s remarkable growth as a high-quality tourist destination.” – Ingrid Koeck, Partner and Spokesperson, Torel Boutiques Group.
