With Toyota ready to remain in the city’s car class, the concept of the Aygo X prologue gives us a good idea of what the Japanese brand’s next city might look like.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]oyota recently confirmed that it will reverse the trend in the industry by staying in the city car class with a successor to its current Aygo. And now the Japanese brand has given us a preview of what the new model might look like, with the Toyota Aygo X Prologue.
The new concept shows how Toyota believes that its A-segment model can become a crossover, while maintaining its small dimensions and, as a conventional gasoline vehicle, a lower price than the very fashionable electric ones.
Aygo X is a little longer and taller than the current Aygo, with 3,700mm and 1,500mm respectively. Its wheelbase also increases, by a useful 90mm, to 2,340mm, potentially freeing up extra space in the cab.
It is likely, then, that Aygo X is a preview very close to the production model. However, Toyota has not yet officially confirmed that the X is a preview of a production model.
