Toyota unveils prototype Aygo X Prologue

With Toyota ready to remain in the city’s car class, the concept of the Aygo X prologue gives us a good idea of what the Japanese brand’s next city might look like.

Toyota recently confirmed that it will reverse the trend in the industry by staying in the city car class with a successor to its current Aygo. And now the Japanese brand has given us a preview of what the new model might look like, with the Toyota Aygo X Prologue.

The new concept shows how Toyota believes that its A-segment model can become a crossover, while maintaining its small dimensions and, as a conventional gasoline vehicle, a lower price than the very fashionable electric ones.

Aygo X is a little longer and taller than the current Aygo, with 3,700mm and 1,500mm respectively. Its wheelbase also increases, by a useful 90mm, to 2,340mm, potentially freeing up extra space in the cab.

It is likely, then, that Aygo X is a preview very close to the production model. However, Toyota has not yet officially confirmed that the X is a preview of a production model.
