Transdev Portugal gathered a number of national and international mobility experts in Aveiro last Tuesday to present the latest trends, innovations, and solutions available to the Transdev Group worldwide.
Directed to representatives of local authorities, transport authorities and mobility technicians, the #PACE seminar aimed to demonstrate the advantages of the applicability of the Transdev Group’s international solutions and know-how in Portugal, thus allowing the national territories to follow the development of the sector, making them more responsive and efficient in matters of transport.
“Transdev believes that the mobility that we live in today is changing and, in the near future, it will be PACE – Personalized, Autonomous, Connected and Ecological. as well as the ability to tailor solutions to the needs of our customers and the specifics of their territories, “said Transdev’s CEO in Portugal and Spain, Pierre Jaffard, adding that” Transdev’s expertise and know-how allow us to develop and operate all modes of transport – rail, sea, bicycles, shared, taxis, on-demand transport and ambulances “.
In the panel dedicated to personalized mobility, David Lainé, solution manager of the Transdev Group, presented the Maas solution (mobility as a service), an app able to integrate the offer of the various modes of transport of a city, also providing for the respective tariff integration, and is already in the stage of commercialization in France.
In Portugal, under a partnership developed by Transdev, CEiiA and Aveiro City Council, this solution will be tested later this year in the municipality of Aveiro, in a pilot project which, according to André Dias, Head of Intelligent Systems Unit in CEiiA, will enable the people of Aveiro to “plan their mobility needs in real time, book and pay for parking, use charging points, rent a shared bike, or take a bus or the local train through a single subscription” .
The presentation of Transdev solutions for connected mobility was carried out by Benoît Jaby, solutions manager of Transport on Demand in the Transdev Group, who began by stressing that “in the last year, Transdev operated more than 500 thousand on-demand transport services associated with management tools for this purpose, “to conclude that” the sustainability of these on-demand transport solutions poses challenging economic benefits to both the public transport operator and the passengers. “
