Azores Triangle promotes tourism offer at BTL 2024
The six municipalities of the islands of Faial, Pico and São Jorge will be at the largest fair in the country to showcase their tourist resources under the motto “One Journey, Three Destinations”.
Horta (Faial), Lajes, Madalena, São Roque (Pico), Calheta and Velas (São Jorge) will promote their complementary tourist offer, which plays a prominent role in the global context of the destination.
The six municipalities make up the Association of Municipalities of the Triângulo (AMT), an entity responsible for boosting the economic and socio-cultural development of the Triângulo islands.
Untouched nature – with the Pico mountain, the fajãs of São Jorge, a biosphere reserve, and the Faial caldera highlighted –, water sports, trails, natural parks and marine life are just some of the most notable resources of these destinations. Without forgetting the whaling culture, the vineyard culture and the unique gastronomy.
“The proximity between the islands of Faial, Pico and São Jorge is reflected in cultural affinity and ease of connection. However, on each island and in each municipality visitors find different resources and experiences. This results in a particular tourist product in the context of the Azores, which allows you to experience three different destinations in one visit”, says Luis Silveira, President of the Association of Municipalities of the Triângulo.
During BTL 2024, the municipalities of the Triângulo will organize several initiatives and presentations:
